A Growing Cyber Concern in Transportation

When we think transportation, we often think of people or property being moved around with big pieces of equipment. Looking deeper, transportation has become a part of the digital world. Not only do vehicles have electronic control modules but also electronic logging devices collecting mountains of data. Drivers are connected via apps and their smartphones. Companies are often using comprehensive transportation management software which has dispatching, HR, accounting, etc. all under one umbrella. These things open the door for cybersecurity concerns. It’s not just your physical infrastructure you should think about now but also your digital. It’s important to have a plan in place in case of a cyber breach. Our friend and colleague Linsday Timcke recently posted a great article on CLA’s Cybersecurity Blog. Take a few moments and read about Cyber Security/Response Plan Preparedness in Trucking. If you have concerns about your systems, preparedness, or response plan, reach out and see how CLA can help.
