Our Thanks to Paul Neiffer

As you read in last week’s post from Paul, he officially retired from CLA effective December 31, 2022. We would be remiss if we did not use our first post of the year to thank him for his tremendous contributions to CLA and the ag industry.

In the world of ag tax and accounting, Paul is an icon. From USDA programs, to the grain glitch (and the grain glitch fix), to just general farm tax planning, you could depend on him to provide practical insights on the issues. Paul ran a full-speed schedule here at CLA, but you could always count on him to answer the phone and help when you needed him. Paul’s passion for agriculture is inspiring to those who read his blogs but it is even more inspiring for those of us that had the privilege of working directly with him.

We wish Paul the best in his retirement and look forward to crossing paths with him going forward as we continue to collaborate. Mohit, myself, and the rest CLA’s agribusiness team look forward to continuing the work Paul started 14 years ago. We continue to appreciate input from our readers through the comments section or direct emails and wish all of you the best as we begin the new year.

I’ve been travelling in Europe buying horses for resale in the US the past couple of weeks and I’m just now learning of Paul’s well earned retirement. Hiring Paul and CLA to be our personal and corporate CPA’s was easily one of the best financial decisions we made since starting our business. It’s our hope that Paul’s successors will continue to bring value to our operations, and that Paul fully enjoys his retirement from CLA!
