NCUA Launches Interactive Online Examination Guide

October 24, 2016, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) launched the online Examiner’s Guide, which is an interactive tool allowing examiners to provide up-to-date, comprehensive supervisory guidance on certain regulatory and supervisory issues affecting credit unions.

The online format of the guide will allow readers to search various topics of interest and better locate related NCUA resources. The agency said the guide also has a feedback button, allowing interested stakeholders to leave their input and suggestions for additional clarification. Under this new format, NCUA will be able to update the Examiner’s Guide continuously, in the event of a new law or regulation.

NCUA said the guide will eventually include updated guidance on supervisory areas, such as member business lending, consumer and real estate lending, internal controls, asset-liability management, investments and fraud, among others.
