Managing Cash Flow During Challenging Times

Three years ago, we watched our country shut down in a way we never had before. This community rose to the challenge and gave your best throughout the uncertainties and the changing landscape. And you continue to do so.

Fast forward to today and while sales are very strong throughout most of the country, challenges continue, and the complexities have returned. Most challenging is that inflation has caught up with many lines of the P&L over the last 12 months.

Through challenging times like this and in your business, it takes balance. Like riding a bike, you can’t only look left or right; to keep from falling, you must take in the whole landscape.

  • You must balance top line AND bottom-line growth. Both are necessary for your long-term success.  This includes balancing competitive menu pricing and strategic discounting decisions.
  • Your teams must balance serving more guests amidst staffing challenges, while balancing the increasing cost of labor, productivity, retention and accountability.
  • And finally, balancing new processes and expectations while rebuilding the foundational disciplines that were disrupted in many ways throughout the pandemic.

As you make decisions for your business, remember that it takes balance.

In our upcoming blog series, we will highlight areas of opportunity and offer tips to manage your cash flow.

CLA brings balance to get you where you want to go – we’ll get you there!
