Are You Maximizing the Value of Your Software?

Implementing new software is a daunting task. You invest valuable time in identifying the right software tool. After comparing each option, and sitting through countless product tours, you select the best fit for your business. You then dedicate the resources, time, and budget to its implementation, hoping the outcome resembles the end product promised in demos. Go-live arrives, AP bills are being entered, the first check was printed successfully (or ACH), and you can celebrate a successful implementation and breathe a sigh of relief. But then a new thought surfaces, now what?

Are we maximizing the value of our software?

Many companies find themselves configuring software to a point that it can be used, but fail to take advantage of more advanced functionality or new features released after their go-live. These parts of the software are often the ones that provide true value. Not taking advantage of them would be like baking a cake and deciding not to put icing on it.

Why do so many companies stop short?

The answer is twofold: first, it takes time to stay up to date on quarterly releases and system functionality, but second (and possibly the more difficult of the two) how do you painlessly inject more change into your organization. The amount of time necessary for change management is often underestimated. During the implementation process, the consulting team drives your project plan and follows a proven methodology to ensure attainment of a successful go-live. Once live, no external parties are pushing for change, and most folks are averse to change. Being change-averse does not have to be a roadblock to making the most of your software. So, we’ve decided to be your partner in change management as we embark upon a series to help you “Maximize the Value of your Sage Intacct”.
