Top Producer – Day 1

Yesterday I spent most of the day in Coldwater, Michigan and I can tell you that the first four letters of that name was very appropriate. It was about 15 degrees below zero when I got up and I think it peaked out at zero later in the day.

The event I attended was the Winter agronomy update put in by Missy Bauer. It is obvious that Michigan enjoyed really good corn yields last year since all four of the plots discussed had yields well in excess of 200 bushels per acre.

Today is the first day of the Top Producer Conference and I will post later if anything jumps out at me as being noteworthy. I speak tomorrow in two breakout sessions on 2014 tax update and then speak in front of the general session on what farmers should know about social security before they retire. I will do a post later on this subject.

I will keep you posted.
