Sheldon, Iowa is Cold

David Repp and I are teaching day 2 of the ISU-CALT Farm and Urban Tax School in Sheldon, Iowa today.  I also did this same class last year at the same time and although today’s temperature is about 18 degrees, last year is the temperature was even lower at about 4 degrees.

I thought I would update everyone on some of my speaking engagements over the next month or so.  Today I am in Sheldon, Iowa and then tomorrow I will be in Red Oak, Iowa doing the same class.

On December 2 and 3 I will be in Kansas City for the Farm Journal Legacy Project Conference.  I will be speaking at two separate sessions dealing with succession planning topics.

On December 4, I am speaking on the farm bill and farm taxation for the Indiana Ag Bankers Clinic held at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

On December 5, I will be holding two farm bill seminars for United FCS in Willmar and Morton, Minnesota.

On December 7, I will be doing a joint presentation with Andy Biebl and Lance Woodbury in Chicago for the DTN / Ag Summit on tax strategies for farmers age 55 and over.

On December 10, I will be doing another farm bill seminar in Dennison, Iowa.

On December 12, I will be participating as part of the Farm Journal Legacy Workshop in Garden City, Kansas (that will be a lot of driving to get there).

On December 16, I will doing my final ISU-CALT Farm and Urban Tax School in Ames, Iowa.  That session will likely have more than 300 attendees.

I also think I will be doing four more farm bill seminars in South Dakota on December 17-19, but this has not been firmed up yet.

As you can see, a fair amount of travel during December in the Midwest.  I am about to finish up my 20 day trip (go home this Thursday night) and then start a 25 day trip on November 25 (at least my wife is with me for the first part).  I enjoy speaking, but must admit there are mornings when I wake up in a hotel room and have no clue where I am at.

If you will be at any of these seminars, please make sure to let me know.
