Farm Financial Standard Annual Conference

Today begins the annual Farm Financial Standards Council annual conference in warm Kennewick, Washington (we are supposed to be 104 on Friday).  The Council primary goals are to provide guidance to agriculture producers on preparing accrual based financial statements.  The meeting gets started today with committee meetings.  Tomorrow’s schedule has speakers on succession planning and related items with Friday’s morning session dealing with the council’s business matters.

Friday afternoon we are taking a field trip to Waitsburg/Dayton, Washington to get these flatlanders some riding time on hillside combines.  My goal to make sure each person gets on at least a 30 percent grade before we leave for Walla Walla for a little bit of wine touring plus dinner that night.

I look forward to the conference and will update you on anything interesting that I hear or learn over the next few days.
