DTN Ag Summit

I will be speaking in two sessions as this year’s DTN Ag Summit.  This Sunday, Nick Houle from our Minneapolis office and myself will be speaking on how to reduce the income tax impact from a farmer retiring.  Most farmers do a great job of deferring income taxes during their career, however, when it comes time to retire, the income tax bill can easily exceed $500,000.  Nick and I go over some of the tips that can be used to reduce this tax bill.

Next Tuesday, I will be doing a breakout session on “Tax Habits of Highly Effective Farmers”.  You can either attend the conference in Chicago in person or you can view the conference online including my break-out session on Tuesday.  Here is a link to sign up for the conference.  Also, it appears that several companies may be having an online version available in your area.  One example is the Minnesota Soybean Association is providing online viewing in their offices for a $50 fee.  If that is something that may be of interest, I would contact these companies or touch base with DTN to see who might be sponsoring it in your area.
