Day Two of Midwest Crop Tour

Today, we left Fishers, Indiana and headed due west and then north towards Kokomo.  Most of the corn samples we took between Tipton (where we started our sampling) were very good.  Most of the yields were in the 185 to 220 range.  Soybean counts were above the three-year average.  Our highest corn count in Indiana was actually on 20 inch rows at 221.

As we got closer to Illinois, it started to get drier and drier.  If these crops do not get a rain soon, they will most likely not hit the targets generated by our samples.  Our best count of the day was in Champaign County at about 230 while our lowest counts were also in Champaign and the next county of McLean at around 135.
