CLA UK Tour — Leg 1 in Manchester, January 16
I hope you all enjoyed the Christmas holiday and new year break and all of us in the accounting and tax profession got the greatest present yet (?!) when the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was finally signed by President Trump on December 22, 2017.
Since my last article there had been three further iterations and keeping up with what may or may not occur just became too much for me and pretty much everyone else of sound mind knowing full well it would all be different when signed in to law.
Well now we have that law and now the time and work starts in earnest to digest, analyse and help our clients in what it means for them and what it is we can do for them to add value and opportunities.
This now starts imminently with a breakfast session next week in Manchester, UK on Tuesday, January 16th at 8 a.m.
Myself and Aubrey Medal are starting a CLA tour de force in the North West, along with our friend Simon Kite at Saffery Champness, where we will be hosting an insightful session in to what businesses and investors should be aware of when looking to expand or invest in the USA. We will address issues around banking, immigration, legal basics as well of course accounting and taxes. And if you’re lucky we’ll have some insight in to what is good and what is bad about these tax reforms should your appetite warrant it.
This will be the first of many sessions we are planning to do throughout the year and throughout the UK in 2018.
We aim to give insights from professionals but also other businesses and their owners and managers that have lived through what it is that many of you are looking to do in the future, whether near or far. This insight is invaluable and as I talk and listen to my clients I’m lucky enough to continue to learn from them every day.
