Less Than Two Full Days to Get Your Return Filed

I think I must have have gotten 10 or more tax returns wrapped up and out the door today but I know I still have at least 20 or more to get finished by Wednesday at 5 PM (actually earlier for me: I am headed to Southern California to play in my two oldest sons Alumni golf tournament.  We are the defending champs).

You have technically till Wednesday night at 11:59 pm to get your return efiled but I would not count on many of us being around to help you out that late. If you don’t owe any tax don’t panic since there is no penalty in that situation but I would still recommend getting it in by Wednesday.

If you owe tax, you will owe interest at 3% from April 15 until it paid. You will also owe a late penalty at .5% each month (including partial months) you are late plus 5% per month late filing penalty after October 15 (assuming you filed an extension on April 15).

I am looking forward to this tax season being done, but I already know I have a 17 day road trip the end of this month and another 18 day road trip in early December. The joys of living in Washington state and speaking all over the Midwest. I must admit I enjoy it and I have a very good supportive wife.
